TEA TREE OIL HISTORY
‘ Bungawalbyn Valley Basin’
CORAKI
TEA TEE OIL INDUSTRY
INTRODUCTION - The below mentioned facts are clear indications that the ‘CORAKI.’ produced at our ‘JENBROOK’ plantation has maintained the original harvest and distillation traditions founded by early pioneers in the heart of the heart of this harsh environment Whilst ‘organic’ accreditation can be achieved any where in the world, no one can compete with the historic attributes our organization holds.
‘HISTORIC FACTS’
During the late 1800’s and early 1900, CORAKI village was developed at the junction of the Richmond and Wilson Rivers. This location was regarded as the largest sea port on the North Coast of NSW, initially established to service the valuable ‘cedar’ timber industry. Uncontrolled logging of native rainforest and land clearing revealed rich agricultural soils and so the dairying and sugar can industry developed.
The initial establishment of these industries in this harsh environment was foreign to early white settlers. High rainfall and humid conditions, injuries and insect attack was a major health hazard causing serious infection that may result in death.
Supplies of mild European antiseptics were scarce and had limited effect on serious infections and fungal deceases. Native aboriginals exposed to the same harsh conditions with little or no protection were observed crushing tea tree leaf and binding it over wounds and infections with paper bark strapping. The results were staggering, infection was controlled and wounds healed rapidly.
Botanists soon identified this unique medicinal tree and created the botanical species Melaleuca alternifolia.
Historically ‘Bungawalbyn Valley Basin’ is the birthplace of the TEA TREE INDUSTRY and over a period of time world populations were introduced to this unique ‘natural’ antiseptic. Still to this day, modern science has failed to provide a safe effective medication for the treatment of topical infections and fungal deceases compared to ‘Australian Native Tea Tree Oil.
HISTORIC FACTS – Unlike most Australian native species, Melaleuca alternifia maintained its original sustainable botanical identification growing naturally in wetland areas south of Coraki, now identified as the ‘Bungawalbyn Valley Basin’. As this region developed the species extended outside the natural growing environment and in some cases the oil produced from these stands was of poor quality and regarded unsafe for topical use as an antiseptic.
To substantiate this scientific theory, the principal of ‘JENBROOK FARM’ strategically located in the heart of the ‘ Bungawalbyn Valley’ allowed personnel from the Southern Cross University to conduct a study of the species. Fossilized pollen was recovered from excavations to a depth of 4.3m on the edge of a wetland proving beyond doubt the species had persisted in an unbroken chain for over 36,000 plus years. It is therefore reasonable to assume if a similar study was carried out in the heart of the same wetland area and excavation taken to the base of the peat would probably indicate the species has persisted for a million years.
Based on this scientific evidence and philosophy of Australian aboriginals, the SPECTRUM organization is dedicated to this historic theory. Tea Tree Oil produced should be from the true botanical species Melaleuca alternifolia , grown and harvested in a sustainable environmental agricultural chemistry, hand harvested and subjected to long term distillation to ensure all components are extracted to a maximum level of compliance set beyond International Health Authorities requirements.
Tea Tree Oil is the most complicated essential oil on the planet, comprised of 100,s of compounds, most of which have never been identified. G.C. analysis clearly indicate the deficiencies in oil poorly distilled oil or grown in a completely different agricultural environment. It is basically impossible to completely duplicate the harsh environmental chemistry that exists in the ‘Bungawalbyn Valley Basin’.
Mathematically, if the claim is 100% pure oil it should contain all of the components or constituents in plant material harvested. In the absence of positive proof as to what constituents or combination of constituents give tea tree oil its antimicrobial activity, is it therefore questionable to claim the oil is in fact 100% pure.
It is common for most ‘modern’ distillers to say…. “It is far to costly to run a still to extract the last few drop”, the last few drops are the stubborn heavy molecular compounds, difficult to vaporize and only release towards the end of distillation.
This attitude may satisfy the fragrance and flavoring industry where the variation of compound activity does not affect the efficacy or antimicrobial activity of the oil.
‘Coraki.’ 100% PURE TEA TREE OIL is unquestionably the oldest brand Tea Tree Oil on the market, a unique quality product produced to satisfy customers who don’t gamble on family health issues and buy the best. Why not, ‘Australian Bush Oil’ oil doesn’t cost anymore.
